“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
Spotlight: Joker!
All hail to the clown prince of crime!
It doesn’t matter if Joker was a gangster, or a two bit hood or a failed comedian, whatever he was before he is mostly just Joker now! (‘Cept for a tiny, teeny part of him.)

“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
Spotlight: Bizzaro!
Man Bizzaro makes me both sad and laugh. I don’t think he truly is a villain. He means well but hes just kinda all turned around.
Also I was laughing when I made “krypto” trying to get away from him. This was a pet Bizzaro had in the 90’s Superman cartoon. The creature hated him but poor Bizzaro just didn’t get it.
Oh Bizzaro…

“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
Spotlight: Lex Luthor!
For someone who’s a genius scientist, engineer and business man his design sense is ridiculous. ;)
Ah well I guess that’s what you get when you hire only yes men.
My favourite version of Lex is from the Justice League cartoon I think. Perfectly evil without anyone knowing (most of the time). Metropolis “White Knight” (In his own eyes)

“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
Spotlight: Dark Phoenix!
Now having said how positive Jean is as a character…she is fun as Dark Phoenix and her evil alter ego of “Black Queen” ;)

Honestly I was introduced to the “Dark Phoenix” saga through the 90’s cartoon and the thing that sticks in my head is Wolverine screaming at her when she went evil.

So all together now: “JEEEEEAAANNNNN!!!!”

“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Spotlight: Optimus Prime!
“Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.”
The big man himself Optimus Prime! His “Secret Identity” being Orion Pax who he was before be became Optimus.
Optimus is a great example of a noble and positive hero and if you haven’t everyone should watch the 1980’s Transformers movie. Just Awesome!

“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Spotlight: President Obama!
I’m Canadian.
Last election I did a piece called “Captain Obamerica” I thought it needed an update.
All I ask of our American friends is that they vote for who they believe in.

“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Spotlight: Huntress!
Little Helena Bertinelli and her awesome grown up form of Huntress. I thought showing Helena as a kid was important to show how she turned a tragedy into her own strength. (Like Batman…yes I know she was originally his daughter and is now again)
Shes wearing her outfit from the fashback of her origins in Justice League.

“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Spotlight: Stephanie Brown aka Spolier aka Robin aka Batgirl!
Now I don’t know much about Stephanie like other characters but I do know she has a loyal fanbase and that she was the first female Robin within continuity. I read up a bit on her and she seems to always come back more mature and stronger in every iteration of her character. At this rate she should be Nightwing next and then eventually take over for Bruce!
I also did read her run as Batgirl and was sad to see it go. It was good! And she screwed with Damian..;)
So with this piece you get the strength of three Heroes embodied in one girl!
(These multiple figure pieces are killing me…:D )

“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Spotlight: Deadpool!
Ah good ole Wade. Starting out as a 90s ripoff character (of Deathstroke) but eventually coming into his own. Oddly enough when he started out he used to be a lot more serious and not as fun as he is now.
So maybe THATS what they were going for in Wolverine:Origins…riiiight.

“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Spotlight: Ms.Marvel!
Now I didn’t know enough about Ms.Marvel, beyond Rouge taking her powers and being a sometime ally of the X-Men, to come up with a word for her but I did want to do a poster for her and lilyinblue on deviant art mentioned I should read her latest series (before the current one). So I found it and I did.
So hopefully I’ve done Carol justice and she seems like she never gives up till she’s victorious.

“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
Spotlight: Darkseid!
Darkseid is the perfect example of the “Accept” Series, a representation of everything evil a villain does and that needs to be fought against. Its no wonder in the modern continuity Superman who wants Justice and Freedom for all is constantly put up against him.
He is a great villain though, Just like Dr.Doom and Magneto he just ‘knows’ he is right in everything he does.

“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
Spotlight: Magneto!
I thought a lot about Magneto while I was doing this piece (Ya don’t say!) and I think he’s a very noble but very tragic figure. An example of a man who in trying to fight what he absolutely hates he becomes exactly that. Whether he can see it or not.
I suppose that is what true villainy is. Remember one man’s Hero is anothers Villain!

Spotlight: Wolverine!
This was one of the first times I had more fun doing the ‘secret identity’ of the Hero than the actual Hero.
Probably because we’re both Canadian? Ha ;)
Also all I could hear was Logan’s voice from the 90’s X-Men cartoon.

Two Face is clearly a villain but I just thought it was clever to do a Harvey Dent /Two-Face poster. And the two posters say ‘Believe in Heroes’ and ‘Accept Villains’ respectively.
